Description

Fertech Reinforce is a low application rate and high analysis liquid potassium silicate fertiliser, ideal for use when a strong, hard wearing turf is needed.  It strengthens the turf grass sward and promotes a pathogen resistant plant.

The accumulation of silicon in epidermal cells and cell walls results in the development of more erect leaf blades and a thicker, stronger cuticle layer which limits non-stomatal transpiration and water loss.  By strengthening the cuticle layer prior to the onset of drought transpiration can be slowed down increasing drought tolerance.  Silicon is also documented as reducing fungal attack by increasing cell wall thickness, reducing the ability of fungal hyphae (mycelium) to penetrate cells. It has also been noted that Silicon applications stimulate the plant’s own defense mechanisms to deter pathogen attack.
Use on all turf surfaces prior to the onset of stress conditions.
